Security Officer Qualifications

Below you will find a list of qualifications which you will need in order to apply.

Proven Experience

  • You need at least two years experience in the security field.
  • Please tell us what types of security work you have done in the past.
  • You will need to provide two work references which we may contact.

Top Quality

  • You need to be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Your work ethics must be of high quality. We do not accept quantity in place of quality.
  • Understand what it takes to work with responsiblity.

Other Qualifications

  • You must speak English fluently.
  • Good moral character is fundamental.
  • All applicants must have completed the BST 1 & 2 Training and hold a valid B.C. Security License.

  1. Can I apply if I don't have my BST 1 & 2 yet?
    Please read the following information provided by the BC Solicitor General.

    In British Columbia, businesses and individuals (workers) offering security services must hold a valid security licence as per the terms of the Security Services Act (2007). The Registrar, Security Services issues each approved applicant a licence that outlines the conditions of the licence, the types of security services the business or individual may provide and special authorizations such as the use of dogs and restraints while performing security duties.

    How can I obtain a Security Licence?
    Security Licencing in British Columbia is done through the Provincial Government. Here is a link to their website where you can get step by step instructions on where and how to get a B.C. Security Licence.

    What is the rate of pay, or starting wages?
    The rate of pay varies on the position, as well as on experience and education. However, we offer competitive wages and special benifits to our employees. This will be further discussed with you in your interview.
